My top favorite (and sexiest) movies sur la piscine

Written by Ariadne

Well, I don’t know if you’ve really heard of it …but it’s summertime already! And its gettin hot in here (so hot), so take off all your clothes (just kidding pals!) but as Nelly has ,so wisely ,argued so many years ago, here I have prepared for you a cool ,yet steamy collection of movies, in order to dive in! My list shall be about swimming pools and their hot and famous swimmers… Enjoy!

11. The Girl Next Door (2004)

Okay, picture this; you are a highschool student, handsome yet kind of nerd, and right across your room there’s the bedroom of the new neighbor(!) who, by the way, happens to be an extremely hot bombshell and a mutual attraction grows on between you. Here I add that your new neighbor as you are about to find out soon, happens also to be a real-life pornstar (!) But before all these , you both sneak into someone’s swimming pool at night… just to get to know each other..

10. Cruel Intentions (1999)

I believe everyone knows what’s going on with Cruel Intentions, what you might not know is that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe fell in love after one particular scene they shared together while filming this… do you know which one? (btw I mean in real life!)

9. Lords of Dogtown (2005)

Lords of Dogtown is this cult epic by one of my favourite teen-themed directors, Catherine Hardwicke. This Californian coming-of-age tale, featuring the legendary Heath Ledger, is just as good as it sounds if not far better! Swimming pools here are not filled but the effect is just as fascinating and exciting as it can possibly get! Ladies and gentlemen, the Z-boys are about to take action and your cruising around the Venice Beach just about to begin!

8. Romeo and Juliet (1996)

Leonardo Dicaprio once had interpreted William Shakespeare’s romantic and brave young hero and his breathtaking image had decorated every girl’s adolescent room and wild imagination (even the playwright would had been amazed!) and as every movie in the 90s, this contemporary adaptation needed a touch of spice, or as in this case, of a swimming pool, as well.

7. Cleopatra (1963)

Cleopatra constitutes a great achievement of world cinema. Although no substantial scenario is somewhere to be found , some movies are meant to stand the passage of time thanks to the beauty of its scenes and aesthetics  and the performances of their great actors and iconic figure…

6. Wild Things (1998)

Wild Things is one of these movies that prove themselves to be a bit more than their mere title or your poor first impression judging by the trailer! And you just love to watch them over and over again! Cheesy, soft, compelling, weird, fascinating and extremely hot… guys, some of the stuff we’ve got here!

5. The Beach (1999)

Altough this is not about another swimming pool scene or themed movie, Leonardo Dicaprio as a young and naive hippie along with his new French companions set out a quest to find this well hidden virgin island somewhere in Thailand, which cherishes a heavenly-like secret beach. And here it is , folks!

4. Swimming Pool (2003)

One of my favorite films created by French Film director Francois Ozon, Swimming Pool has this neo- film noir quality of a thriller all wrapped up into a french sheet of eroticism and darkness. I’m afraid that Swimming Pool is one of the weirdest and most memorable movies you’ll ever get to see.

3. The Great Gatsby (1974)

Jay Gatsby is great indeed, a dreamer and an idealist. What made his picture for us even more dreamy is the way he would float on his swimming pool as that bright green light across the water, over Daisy’s dock that made dreams so tangible that it would seem just unreal at the very end, to so fatally sink…

2. The Party (1968)

I don’t believe anyone has ever seen anything like it before! This is one of my favourite movies of all time and it is the most amazing party you shall ever be invited to! Celebrities, the rich upper class, Asian bollywood actors, a breathtaking 1960s mansion, a colored elephant and a huge swimming pool that turns into an enormous …bubble bath is just a few !

  1. La Piscine (1969)

This one is a movie I particularly love. My favorite actors star in it; Alain Delon and Romy Schneider, and if not about my love for the movies of the 60s , this is a movie about my love for the good old times…

That was me pals, AGAIN! I hope you liked and enjoyed greatly my list. I’m afraid that’s it for today, so take care and enjoy the summer !!
